Mission statement

Alexander Technique Denver places at its heart a statement made by F.M. Alexander:
“If you want to do what I do, you must do what I did.”

Our goal is to provide a safe and stimulating environment in which our trainees can
explore and deepen their work on themselves. They will learn to embody the principles
of the work as they move in a natural progression toward sharing it with others.

Our school offers a traditional 3-year, 1600-hour teacher-training course, approved by AmSAT. In addition, we offer a number of shorter programs, including private lessons:

  • for beginners who wish to have low-cost lessons as practice students of our trainees
  • for people of all levels who wish to have private lessons with the faculty
  • for teachers of the Technique who want to hone or practice their skills
  • for serious students of the Technique who would like to deepen their work

The course meets Wednesday through Saturday, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Private lessons are arranged by appointment.

We are located 1.3 miles from the light-rail and are near the University of Denver. There is a park nearby for working in activity, a coffeeshop two doors down, and several nearby restaurants. We have abundant on-street parking.
